A good work-out in drizzly wet Welsh weather saw Dylan Scott add to his tally for pre-season.
Nothing is one or lost in a friendly, it's about match sharpness and working as a unit. And Scott is showing what we expect in the season to come. Although Colwyn took the lead inside the first fifteen minutes, with a simple reverse pass and low shot, Scott left the home defenders trailing as he raced down the right, pulling the ball back for Liam Tongue. Well within Tongue shooting distance, instead he laid it off to the better placed Jack Irlam to equalise less than a minute later. Few chances fell to either side after the equaliser, during the competitive half and it finished one apiece. The second half started in much the same vein, with a sweeping move finding a Colwyn player in the box to nod a cross towards goal, but Charlie Monks got a hand to it, tipping it away. Halfway through the half, Ethan Roberts forced a decent stop from Monks, but Josh Carey fired in the rebound off the crossbar. Again Celtic pulled one back, again Scott involved, this time he smashed open the offside trap to race onto a pinpoinnt Benni Smales-Braithwaite pass and pick his spot one-on-one. And that's how it finished.
