Celtic's first friendly of the 25/26 season ended as a 1-1 draw.
Early days for Celtic, and it showed, with some disjointed defending under the baking sun allowing the home side to take most chances. Cheadle should have been four or five ahead by half time, but for woeful finishing and outstanding keeping by the young Under-21s keeper, Connor Harte, who not only saved a penalty but pulled off a double save. Celtic only had one real chance. Benni Smales Braithwaite laid off Ruben Jerome, who jinked inside, and found Dylan Scott. Scott made no mistake, and Celtic were one up. The second half saw more even chances with Celtic not only changing their eleven, but kits. Both sides hit the woodwork, and seconds before the final whistle, Vladyslav Shthylian had the time and space to pick his spot.
