Ian is the son of Everton legend Ian Snodin. Whilst his father was manager of Doncaster Rovers, Ian joined the youth set-up there, eventually progressing to the reserves. He joined Celtic after a solid pre-season display but never broke into the first team, and was released to Ossett Town.
