Barrie jumped ship from Radcliffe Borough on the eve of their promotion into the Unibond to join us. A wide ranging defensive midfield player, he is more than capable of scoring. In recent times, Barrie played for Morecambe (1998 to 2000) and then on loan to Bamber Bridge, before jetting off to Singapore to play for Sengkang Marine FC throughout 2001. Unable to stay away, he came back to England, joining Radcliffe Borough at the start of 2002. In 2003/04 he was asked to play centreback, despite being a quality midfielder, and did such a wonderful job, he was voted player of the season in 2003/04 and again in 2004/05! A Celtic stalwart, his versatility makes him a valuable player.

Barrie took over managing the reserve squad in 2010/11, steering them to winning the league. One of the best performances as a player was against Hyde, where he broke his arm in an aerial clash after coming on as a substitute, but won the ball, and took it all the way up the pitch to score the goal that secured the win on New Year's day 2008.
