We're thrilled to have sealed the signing of Leon Arnasalam who joins Celtic from Clitheroe.

Leon, an exciting and pacy winger links up with Celtic ahead of our home fixture vs his former Club tomorrow.

After signing for Celtic, Leon told us: “I’m really happy to sign for the Club! The Gaffer has been persistent in wanting to sign me and I think for a player that’s what you want.

“The demands in training are really high and the lads are a really good group. It can be hard for a player to come into a new Club but they have genuinely made me feel like one of their own, so I can’t wait!”



James Kinsey added: “Leon is somebody I’ve liked for a long time as a player. He’s quick, direct and really technical on the ball. He’s not really pushed on in the game but we’re looking forward to providing him with the platform to do that.

“He has trained this week and been brilliant. In one v one situations he is exciting and he is the type of player that will get supporters off their seat. We’re looking forward to seeing his progression.”


Starting his career in Preston North End’s academy and featuring for Bolton Wanderers U23’s, Leon scored Macclesfield's first ever competitive goal during their inaugural North West Counties title winning season.

Leon has also featured for Marine, Warrington Town, Skelmersdale and after leaving Macclesfield in November 2023, most recently played for Clitheroe, where he recorded two assists on his debut in their 4-0 victory over Hednesford Town.
