Stalybridge Celtic is saddened to learn that life-long fan Eric Dyson has sadly passed away.

Eric has supported the Club since the 1930s and used to write match reports for the Club in the 1970s the working for the Tameside Reporter alongside Martyn Torr.

Eric also volunteered in numerous roles including taking on secretary duties and he was made a Honorary Life Member by the Club several years ago.

The Club sends its condolences to Eric’s son David and grandson Scott, who are regulars at Celtic games home and away.

A minutes silence will take place before Friday evening’s home game with Bootle, with the Celtic squad to be wearing black armbands.

Rest in peace, Eric.
