We’re excited to confirm the signing of left-back Lucas Cook who joins the Club from Perth Glory.

The 19-year-old has been playing his football in Australia for Perth Glory in the National Premier League Western Australia, having also featured for Bayswater City.

Originally from England, Lucas is back home and joins Celtic’s squad ahead of Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup tie away at Runcorn Linnets.

Manager James Kinsey told us: “Lucas has been training with us for a few weeks. We have had to wait for his international clearance to come through so it’s been a bit frustrating but we’re delighted he’s now available for us.

“We’re getting a natural left-back, that is really keen to push on in English football. He’s fantastic on the ball, and is aggressive in how he wants to defend.

“Jordan Burton has been superb at filling in there for us in the opening two games, but Lucas’ left-footed balance will be a huge plus for how we want to play moving forward.”
