We’re delighted to confirm the arrival of central defender Connor O’Grady who joins the club from Worksop Town.

Connor is no stranger to Bower Fold, having made 32 appearances for the club during the 2021-22 season.

The 25-year-old scored twice in games against AFC Colne and Ashton United before suffering an injury in March 2022 that saw his season ended early.

Just over a year on, Connor now returns to Celtic after finishing the 2022-23 season with NPL East winners Worksop Town, helping The Tigers secure promotion to the NPL Premier Division.

After returning to the Club for his second spell, Connor told us: “I'm delighted to be back at the club. I really enjoyed my time here previously and it was a no brainer when I found out there was interest in me to come back.

"I spoke to the Gaffer and I can see the buzz around the club and the feeling that the Club is heading in the right direction. 

"It's been a long road back since my injury so I'd like to thank Worksop for their help in helping me get back to fitness. 

"I can see we've got a good group of lads here and we're definitely looking positive for the season. I'm keen to make a good impact on and off the pitch and I'm really looking forward to it!"

Having recruiting Connor to the club, Manager James Kinsey said: “We’ve been looking for a centre half and Connor is the perfect fit for what we are after.

“Our supporters will be familiar with him already from his previous time with the club, but for me, he ha so much more to give. He’s got years ahead of him and when he became available, it was a no brainer for us to get him in.”

“We’re hopeful that he will hit the ground running and will be available for Saturday’s game.”
