Stalybridge Celtic is delighted to announce the appointment of Jill Jones as our new General Manager.
Jill, who currently leads the clubs Academy programme, plus our Under 21 and Under 18 sides, has been involved with Stalybridge Celtic for 15 years as part of Celtic Juniors when her son, Matthew, attended the Juniors’ soccer schools when growing up.
Jill is now into her third season leading Celtic’s Academy and Youth teams, looking after our Academy programme and Under 21 and Under 18 sides.
Jill will combine her role overseeing the clubs Academy and Youth teams with her new position, helping to take the Club forward and improve our off-field activities as we embark on a new chapter.
Celtic Chairman Nigel Jones said: “This is an important step in cementing the new Governance arrangements we are introducing. We’ve already put in place the solid foundations and Jill will allow us to build on these in a measured way.
“During the last few weeks, we’ve identified lots of things we are doing right, but there are other areas where we can improve the experience for our supporters and commercial partners. Jill will make sure that we get through these as quickly as possible.â€
Operations Director Paul Bowden said: “Jill will report directly into me, and I’m really looking forward to working with her.
“In the few weeks that Nigel and I have been involved in the Club, Jill has impressed me already. I had no hesitation for proposing her for this important role.
“I already have a long list of things to work through with Jill, so there are some busy days ahead. But, as Nigel says, if we invest now in getting things right this will lead to the right things happening on the pitch – and that’s the most important thing.â€
General Manager Jill Jones said: “I am absolutely delighted to be appointed the General Manager for Stalybridge Celtic.
“It is so exciting to be involved in this new era and I can’t wait to get started in helping to improve all aspects of this great club, for the benefit of us all. I’m really looking forward to helping the club reach its long term aims and becoming fully integrated with the local community.â€
We are in the process of finalising the Club’s full Governance arrangements for the season ahead and aim to share these with supporters this week.
We will make further announcements as soon as we can, and we continue to invite supporters and other interested parties to get in touch with Paul Bowden via paul.bowden@stalycelticfc.co.uk if they have skills to bring to our team.
