A Message from our Chairman

I’d like to thank everyone for the fantastic support that we had at our first friendly fixture against Abbey Hey. It was great to see over 550 supporters at the Fold – a fantastic crowd for a pre-season friendly.

Our club staff were delighted to see lots of familiar faces, but also the return of many fans who have slipped away over the last few years. It’s great to see you back at the Club.

Well played Abbey Hey – they were an extremely organised team who gave us a real test. We may not have won, but James and the team were positive about the way we played, and James is confident that once the team has an opportunity to gel together, the goals will start flowing. We definitely played some great stuff at times.

We are working at pace to improve the matchday experience and I was delighted that we were able to get The Official Celtic Social Club open for the game which, together with the Bier Hut and the Food Van, will help improve our matchday revenues. This is vital to be able to reinvest back into the Club and squad.

I do recognise, however, that not everything ran smoothly, and I’d like to apologise if your experience wasn’t as good as we would like it to be. In particular:

I’d be delighted to take feedback on anything we can do to improve your experience – feel free to drop me an email at feedback@stalycelticfc.co.uk.

Onwards and upwards…

Nigel Jones
