We're pleased to confirm the signing of left-back John Pritchard! 

The 27-year-old is a former Northern Premier League Premier Division promotion winner with Ashton United and also lists Chester, Matlock Town and Radcliffe as some of his former clubs, bringing further vital experience to the Celtic squad.

Manager James Kinsey told us: “JP has turned up with a point to prove.

“This last two years or so he’s been nowhere near where he should be. He gave me a call and asked for the opportunity to come in and get his head down. There’s nothing better than that for us and we’ve made it clear it’s up to him whether he is successful here or not.

“His work rate in sessions so far has been second too none and he looks very sharp.”

John began his career at Oldham Athletic before spending time with FC United, Trafford, Ramsbottom and Ashton United, where he was part of the side that secured promotion to the National League North.

John saw a move to Chester where he scored four times in 16 games. A return to Ashton was followed by a short spell with Wythenshawe Town before he signed for Matlock Town in 2021.

In January 2022 he signed for Radcliffe before spending last season with Cheadle Town.
