We’re delighted to confirm the signing of former Wolves Academy goalkeeper Joe O’Shaughnessy on a months loan from Macclesfield FC.

The 20-year-old, who is from Warrington started his career at Wrexham before joining the academy at Burnley where he played with former Celtic loanee Matty Carson.

He then joined Wolves in 2019 where he progressed through the clubs Under 18’s and Under 21’s ranks at their category one academy.

He is eligible to play for the Republic of Ireland and has previously been called up to train at Under 19’s and Under 21’s level.

Joe had a first taste of senior football when he joined Hednesford on loan last season.

Standing at 6’5”, Joe spent time on loan at Bradford City in Sky Bet League Two earlier this season before leaving Wolves and signing for Macclesfield last month.

He arrives at Celtic on loan until April 8.

Joe can be found on Twitter at @JOShaughnessy_1.

Welcome to Celtic, Joe!
