Stalybridge Celtic can confirm that Matty Carson’s loan has ended after the defender agreed to leave Accrington Stanley.

The 20-year-old defender became a fans favourite at Bower Fold after his fantastic performances this season during his loan spell but as he moves on from Accrington, his loan with Celtic has ended. 

In total, he made 11 appearances for the club since joining in October and scored four goals, most notably netting a hat-trick in Celtic’s 4-2 win over Liversedge.

Matty has a bright future ahead of him and we are delighted to have had him play for the club over the last few months.

Matty added: “I appreciate everyone at the club and what they have done for me. I loved every minute of it, so thank you for having me! I’ll be down when I can to cheer the lads on.”
