Author: Taran Dhamrait - Sat 15 Oct 22Stalybridge Celtic is thrilled to confirm the signing of Scott Holding who arrives on a month loan from Sky Bet Championship side Watford.
The central defender boosts Chris Willcock’s defensive options and has signed ahead of today’s fixture with Ashton United.
Scott, 19, signed for Watford in May of this year from Stockport County, where he captained The Hatters Under 23’s side.
Having been with Manchester United, Scott rose through the ranks at County and signed his first professional deal with the club last season. He made his first-team debut for the club in January 2022, featuring in an FA Trophy tie against Larkhall Athletic.
He also had a spell on loan at Ashton United before an impressive display in a trial game for Watford saw the EFL Championship side snap him up permanently on a two-year deal earlier this year.
Celtic would like to thank Watford for allowing Scott to join us on loan and we look forward to having him with us.
Scott can be welcomed to Celtic on Twitter @scottholdinggg.
Welcome to Celtic, Scott!
